Meghan Krench will go over her career trajectory and provide an industry overview of venture capital. Meg trained as a scientist, earning a BS from Penn State and a PhD in Neuroscience from MIT. Tired of stray Drosophila landing in her coffee, Meg decided to move away from the bench and transition into the biotech world and has never looked back since. She initially began working at RA Capital to help identify and evaluate promising investments in both public and private emerging life sciences companies. Meg then took her investment skills to the Business Development (External Innovation) team at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and gained extensive experience with the inner workings and strategy of big biotech. She is now excited to get back into the investment ecosystem while keeping one foot in the door of pharma strategy, in her new role as the Director of Investments at Sanofi Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Sanofi.
